The IFRAM is an association created by a group of young scientists coming from diverse horizons and having acquired an international experience of academic or industrial research. IFRAM's members adhere to a Charter precising the spirit and the objectives here resumed.

The principal aim of the association is to allow his members to conduct an independent, free of constraints fundamental research, giving them all necessary time for the outcome of their projects. It will incite researchers to progress through a constant multidisciplinary knowledge exchange.

The IFRAM will also try to defend in society this requirement to be able to evolve in an environment relieved of the usual obligations and pressures imposed by research systems, to permit the realisation of original ideas likely to lead on to great discoveries. In this aim, it will favour by the public the diffusion of scientific knowledge as well as a reflection on its impact and stakes for society.

Another goal of the IFRAM will be to constitute an ensemble of satellite groups with different activities and aims, whose role will be to support and protect the existence of the research part, e.g. implying themselves in social or humanitarian actions, developing applied research fields, etc.

To finish, the IFRAM will tend towards the creation of a Fondation and a multidisciplinary fundamental research center.
